President: Dr. Yotaro OHNO

Yotaro OHNO received Master's degree in chemical engineering and Doctor's degree in Metallurgical engineering from University of Tokyo.

He was employed in NKK Corporation (Now, JFE) in 1969 and made a lot of research on Iron-making process in Research center. He was dispatched to IRSID, France from 1975 to 1977 and to Institute of Energy Economics, Japan from 1989 to 1991.

Since 1991, he managed various R&D programs in engineering field of the head quarter. He was Technical director of DME Project of JFE Holdings from 2003 to 2007 and President of DME Development Company from 2002 to 2007.

He retired from JFE and founded RenFuD Corporation in 2009.

Technical Director: Hiroshi YAGI

Hiroshi YAGI graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Industrial chemistry and received Master's degree inchemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He was in charge of process development, design and analysis in an engineering company for over 40 years.

Professional engineer (chemical Engineering), APEC engineer, IPEA international professional engineer

He has joined to RenfuD in 2016. 

Planning Director: Giichi ISHIHARA

Giichi ISHIHARA graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Arabic Language course.

He was engaged in financial business in Japan and overseas in Sanwa Bank (now, Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank) for over 40years. He has experience on M & A and restructuring business and launching new business.

He has joined to RenfuD in 2016.

 

Advisor: Nobukazu SHIBUI

Nobukazu SHIBUI graduated from Chuo University,School of Commerce.

He was an officer of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for over 30 years. After retiring from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, he became executive director of Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation. Currently, He is the managing director of the Ogasawara Association and a member of Ogasawara Islands Promotion Development Council under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

He has joined to RenfuD in 2016. 

 

 

Dr.Ohno’s Research and Development Career

・Development of Oxygen blast furnace process (1984-1989)

The process of the blast furnace where oxygen at room temperature is blown was developed by experimental blast furnace and commercial blast furnace testing for high productivity and synthesis gas by-production.

Recently, its application to reduce CO2 emission in steel industry is under study in EU and in Japan.

Technical development was completed through pilot testing. Ten commercial plants were installed in Japan and the technology was recently licensed in Italy and China.

 

・Development of Direct DME synthesis process (1989-2009)

Catalyst and process development were conducted through laboratory scale test, 5t/d pilot plant and 100t/d demonstration plant and have been completed as commercial technology.

Feasibility studies were conducted for commercial production of DME from natural gas or coal in several countries.
